Alot of us as healers always emphasize the importance of praying or phahlaring before a consultation, why?
Well basically awuphumi ekhaya ungashongo ukhuti uyaphi, basically you don't leave home without telling at least someone where you going.
Praying or phahlaring prior to a session makes it so much easier for us (be it virtual, face to face, picture reading or even a candle reading), I say this because you inviting your people to be present in what you doing.

Heh hayi ngoba niyaphapha shame, how do you come into a consultation already expecting what you going to leave with? What is my purpose then?
So I saw a post on one of these Facebook groups where someone asked if it is fair that they consulted and the healer told them they need to just use a white candle to pray with ukhuti izinto size zilunge.
Okay so you come to me right, you firstly let your ancestors know you will be coming to me and you will be consulting and ask them to be present (they can show up and they can not-story for another day).

This requires patience - requires you to be emotionally ready for the challenges.
Challenges? Yes, we face many as izangoma. From people wanting to steal your gift, to people just not wanting you to work positively and help other people.

Okay, now when to know when its time. Your dreams speak to you, if you listen carefully and with an open mind, even your thoughts speak to you. Yes, you may feel like you're going crazy, hearing voices, thoughts you don't understand or even dreams you don't understand. All you need to do is listen and uphahle (pray and ask for guidance using imphepho or snuff as well as candles - white, yellow, blue, green, red - at 12AM or 3AM or both times).
